The Rock Shock for Iranian Rock Lovers

If you have visited this blog in the past few weeks, you might be aware of the Iranian crackdown on immoral behaviour. The crackdown is alive and well, in fact, the Mullah regime has taken it to another level by detaining hundreds present at an underground rock concert. The concert was termed as being “satanic” by the authorities. Western music is a no-no in Iran, and people that indulge in it are seen as a baneful threat to the Iranian culture by the Mullah regime.
Earlier, there was a round of public hangings, where offenders were barbarically made to face the gallows in front of huge crowds. Consumption of alcohol, breach of the ethical code spelt-out in the sharia-the Islamic law, and, now, hearing corrupting rock music all amount to immorality in Iran.
You are advised to leave the bottle of your favorite lager and a CD of Elvis Presley home, or you might just find yourself in a suffocating Iranian prison-a very unfriendly place.
“Most of those arrested are wealthy young people … who came to this party with the goal of attending a provocative, satanic concert,” daily Tehran-e Emrouz quoted a senior police official, Reza Zarei, as saying.[source]
