Russia Talks Tough with Iran

Russia warned Iran that it would not supply the fuel rods for an Iranian nuclear reactor, if the Islamic state did not clear the air of secrecy around its nuclear program. Iran has turned a deaf ear to calls from the UN to divulge the finer details about its nuclear program. But, after this change of tone from its closest ally outside the Islamic world, Iran might just find it difficult to keep its nuclear program a little difficult. The bonhomie between Iran and Russia has not waivered in the winds of international pressure. In fact, Russia and China have both stood by Iran through thick and thin. However, the International pressure is intense, and is crumbling the Russian resolve to unconditionally support Iran.
Russia warned in March that it would not provide fuel rods for the reactor it is building in the southern city of Bushehr as long as Iran ignored UN Security Council demands that it freeze uranium enrichment, diplomats said.[source]
