Re: On The British Sailors Seized By Iran
March 31, 2007 by Alexander
In response to Hoder’s post (by the way you spelled “seized” wrong): we don’t think there is anything more to say than what these people have expressed in BBC’s Have Your Say:
From an Iranian soap series:
Summers added:
“Since our detention on March 23, everything has been very good and I’m completely satisfied about the situation…”S. Freud, in a declaration written before being set free by the Gestapo:
“I recommend the Gestapo to everyone…”There’s an analogy in there somewhere.

The Iranian leadership is an infantile and childish regime. They play silly little games just as children do and they do not know how to deal on an intellectual level. Ahmadinejad is immature, self-indulgent and blinded by hatred. He exploits his own people so why wouldn’t he exploit the UK sailors? No one in the world believes the UK sailors were in Irans waters and no one believes the confessions. And look, he thumbs his nose at the west just like a 12 year old. When will he reach puberty?

I’m an Iranian and am disgusted with what this regime has done and what it does to its people. It’s time for the International community to step up against this regime and support the people inside Iran which the majority is the youth and they detest their current regime.Time is up for the Mullahs and they need to learn a lesson. They are using the national pride that we all Iranians share and take advantage of it to support their Nuclear program. Don’t let these guys go Nuke, Iranians will suffer,

Clearly the Iranians want a military response to this stunt. The US had, after some resistance, begun engaging them diplomatically, wanting to (controversially) include them and Syria in talks about controlling the Iraq insurgency. It seems apparent that diplomacy was never truly Iran’s desire at all, because just when the US becomes more receptive to it they go and do this. I do believe their bluff got called and they had to switch to Plan B.

I find it ironic that most of the Iran apologist are in the US and the UK. Do you think you would have the freedom to spout your anti government diatribe against the Iranian government if you lived there? Your hatred of your own country is amazing, but unlike Iran you have the freedom to make these comments without fear. I hope you all remember that. I’m not a supporter of the Iraq war but I will take the word of the British Government over Iran’s any day.

I’m glad that Iran are treating our personnel well however, I do not see the point in publicly embarrising or using these women and men as PR tools!
I believe Iran should release our troops, they never crossed into Iranian waters.
The letters written are obviously fake, you can tell by just reading it and comparing it to her interview with the BBC prior to the arrest.
Not a smart move Iran.– Scott, Glasgow
