Israel Buckles Up for Air Strikes

Israel has been long contemplating an all-settling air strike over Iran’s nuclear facilities. Israel has declared that it will be completely corroborated by the Western countries, if it was to launch air raids on Iranian nuclear facilities. Though it is not known whether that support will be just of a moral kind or something beyond that.
If we start military operations against Iran alone, then Europe and the U.S. will support us,” Avigdor Lieberman said following a meeting with NATO and European Union officials.[source]
The Israeli army has been found wanting against guerrillas in recent times. However, air-strikes would mean that they won’t be embroiled in ground combat. This would play into the hand of the Jewish state, for they are well versed in aerial warfare and have the fighter jets that can strike deep into Iranian territory. Their doctrinal leanings would be towards the shock-and-awe strategy, propounded rather loudly by Donald Rumsfeld during the US invasion of Iraq. Unlike Iraq, the strategy could work for the pugnacious Israelis in Iran, as they would not cut any red-ribbons for ground combat operations.
